Happy 2008
Well David and I are back home.... trying to adjust to life again after a week of leisure and relaxation following the week of Christmas and wedding craziness. It was a whirlwind, -- beautiful, warm, fun, and spiritual, all rolled into one. Mom & Uncle Steve read beautifully. Erik looked debonaire in a chocolate brown tux. And having Aunt Sue and Leanna smiling, kept me grounded. Must say that we missed seeing others in the Herbert clan, but life happens and schedules don't always coordinate. We just hope to see folks before we head oversees for a few years.
And FYI, darling Walt is laid up following an ACL replacement.... check out what he's been up to @ http://www.waltherbert.blog.com
We'll post a link with pictures once they are ready!

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone is having an amazing holiday season! I just wanted to let everyone know that Ben and I are engaged as of Monday, December 17th!! Of course we won't actually be getting married until around Spring '09 since I have to get out of college first, but yeah...there will be more info available once the time gets closer :)
Also, since Ben & I can't make it, I just wanted to say best wishes to Dave & Veronica on their wedding & in the future! May God bless you both with a strong, lasting relationship and a future full of laughs & great memories!
I suppose that's all from this neck of the woods. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Buenos Tardes Chicos
Happy Birthday to Leanna and Cat. My presents are in the mail, but the Bolivian post office is a bit questionable so if they don´t make it......I´m in Chile now, making my way back north into Peru. Thanksgiving was spent in Uyuni, Bolivia with my two American buddies, two folks from England and a Swiss girl. We managed to find a pizza place run by an american ex-pat from Massachusetts so we enjoyed quite the feast. Ben, congrats on the new job, hope to see you and your momma at the wedding.

I'm still here
I'm still around reading the blog. But it's no fun if it's me typing at me. Gotta love my wandering brother!
And yay! Sarah Ann & Keith, Uncle Joe, Aunt Wynn, Walt and a mystery girl have RSVP-ed that they're coming to the wedding! I'll beat Uncle Steve up if he doesn't show and I'd bet his ladies (Leanna and Sue) and sister (ahem, Dottie) would help. I really hope you can make it Aunt Mary! It'd be great to have all the Herberts in attendance. Plus, Nanny & Pop-op would be proud to have us all there dancing and drinking together. Well, Poppy would at least be proud of the drinking and raucous fun. And all the food will be cooked for us, dishes washed, etc. It's no-mess fun!
So yes, wedding plans are in full swing and I'm sure it will get even crazier. And work is completely packed -- patients here and patients there, patients everywhere.
I won't bore y'all with the details. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to seeing my momma and having some turkey.
P.S. Sarah Ann.... the RSVP was for both the reception and the ceremony!!

where is everyone?
I think Erik and I are on the ball! Everyone else is slack! Happy B-day to Cat on the 14th. I will see you Thanksgiving...have a small gift for you. Ben is no longer a Best Buy Geek. He now works for Acumen and has gained lots of perks i.e. better pay, insurance, works mondays thru fridays. Yippee. Hope all is going well with the planning of V's and David's wedding. Don't know yet if we will be able to attend due to work circumstances. Sarah and Keith are in the throws of selling their home and moving into a new (to-be-built) house on land they have already purchased in a more rural setting. Very peaceful and pretty. Well, Erik, you're just all over the place. I am always glad when I see a post from you as I worry (must be the mother instinct) about you. Lots of travel and, I'm assuming, some risky endeavors. Glad you are safe and well. Thanksgiving is almost here. I wish you all a blessed holiday: Joey, Walter, Wyn, Dottie, Veronica, David, Erik, Steve, Sue, and Leanna. The rest of you guys...I'll be seeing you on Thursday. Hey, Erik, do they eat turkey wherever you're at now? If so, run for your life!
